Nizhny Novgorod formarly known as a rich, trading, merchant city famous for its fair, folk handicrafts (painting, wood and bone carving, embroidery) and folk traditions is a large industrious centre now with the blend of the past and the present in its image.
The ensemble "Russian feast" is one of those who preserve and enriche the traditions of the past. Music lovers of Nizhny Novgorod are well-acguainted with the creativity of the members of this ensemble. Working in close contact with various professional ensembles the musicians of "Russian feast" have represented our art both in Russia and abroad. Different audiences in Germany, France, Turkey, Italy, Norway, Austria, USA, Spain, Mexico applauded the artists from Nizhny Novgorod. The mass media marked high professional level of performers.
The soloist of the ensemble Larisa Tryanina who is the All-Russia Competition prize winner causes special admiration of the listeners. The singer has won the hearts of music lovers by sincerity of performance, by her very beautiful and powerful voice. Comparatevely recently the musicians of the ensemble got a new start in its creative career.
The repertoire has been enlarged. Traditional arrangements of folk tunes and old town romances are included in the repertoire as well as compositions by home and foreign classics (Bach, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, R.Korsakov and others), contemporary composers from Nizhny Novgorod.
